Most parents would be over joyed to find that their children would rather pray than sit in front of the TV all day. That there kids are good and that they won't cause any problems. And yes Religion can be good to a point, children can higher self esteem, better grades, and a better outlook on life, but across all types of religion there is a point where you can be too religiously that affects your mental health.
Therapist are increasingly seeing children and adolescences that problems are related back to religion Children with OCD may rigidly repeat over and over again hail Mary's out of fear that if they don't follow God to a T that he will punish them serverly and never forgive them that repeatedly washing hands and avoiding things and doing things a certain way is more because of the laws that their religion is.
Focusing on the rules of religion more than on the faith can lead to anxiety and depression disorders.
